2010 Ambassador Pinning Ceremony
Tuesday, March 16, 2010

On Sunday March 7, though it was dreary and misting rain outside, the Moore Auditorium at Children's Medical Center was fun and exciting! It was the site of the pinning of the 2010 Wipe Out Kids' Cancer Ambassadors. With a class of 18, as well as our 2009 Ambassador families, the room was packed. Guests were welcomed by Board of Directors' President Elizabeth Zucker.
With a few words from WOKC founder, Cindy Brinker Simmons and UT Southwestern Asst. Professor Dr. Laura Klesse it was on to a little Question and Answer by 2009 Ambassador Amanda about her year as an Ambassador. Amanda's favorite event was getting to swim in the beautiful pool at the home of Marla & Van Shaw...and unlimited snowcones at that pool party.
Current and previous Ambassadors pinned our 2010 group, then 2009 Ambassador Natalie spoke so eloquently about Heroes. She spoke of the definition of the word, then stating "I am here to tell you, YOU ARE ALL HEROES! Not just because you have great strength, or abilities, but because you have tremendous inner strength."
The ceremony closed with a dove release by DFW Dove Release and CAKE!
We at Wipe Out Kids' Cancer have been so privileged and honored to get to know the families of our 2009 Ambassadors and look forward to the upcoming year and getting to know more about each of our Ambassadors for 2010! It will be an exciting year!
