Run, walk, or be a Virtual Runner in the 30th annual Addison Oktoberfest 5K & Tom Thumb Run for the Children.  The event is part of the annual Addison Oktoberfest and supports Wipe Out Kids' Cancer.

Form a team to walk or run in honor of a family member or friend.  The 2010 Run will be dedicated to Wendy Ochoa, Sasha Okhotshiy and Lauren Smith – 3 beloved 2009 Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer Ambassadors who lost their battle against this terrible disease. Proceeds from the race benefit pediatric cancer research and WOKC programs that provide support to children in the DFW area battling cancer.

The Tom Thumb 1 mile Run for the Children will start the day off at 8:00 a.m., followed by the Addison Oktoberfest 5K start at 8:30. The first 500 children (age 10 and under) to cross the 1 Mile Fun Run finish line will receive a goody bag that includes free entry on all Talley Carnival rides until 5:00 pm on race day. At the Post-Race party, participants get a free breakfast, German beer (over 21 years only), a concert by kids’ favorite Eddie Coker, and free admission to Addison Oktoberfest with Race Bibs on Saturday.

The 5K course through the town of Addison is chronotrack certified, and Amica Mutual Insurance is providing cash prizes to the top 3 overall winners and the top winner in the Masters division (40+).

Participants who want to join the fight against pediatric cancer can raise additional money to help the cause through fundraising as an individual or by forming a team. Teams of 25 or more that register together get a group discount. Prizes will be awarded to the individual or group that raises the most money.

•Kids (17 & under) - Win a Speedzone party for 10 or a bowling party at Strikz

Schools are invited to participate in a 2 week fundraising program. All participating schools will be recognized at the post-race ceremony on race day and the top 3 winners will be announced.
